PocketChess for Royal DaVinci

Early 1999 I ported PocketChess v1.0 / Palm to the Royal daVinci platform. In terms of hardware it was a virtual clone of a Palm. Apparently too close - later Royal was sued by Palm, who had accused Royal of using headers / and or source code to implement an identical memory manager. Why anyone would purposefully design a clone of Palm's memory manager without minimally addressing its shortcomings is a good question. The rest of the Royal api was woefully incomplete. Royal was eventually forced to withdraw the device from the market then re-release Royal daVinci with new software, new cpu, but no SDK.
